This month’s AnthroDish Transcript is with Jerrod Blandino, the Co-Founder and former Chief Creative Officer of Too Faced Cosmetics, a beauty brand he launched with Jeremy Johnson in 1998. (Jerrod and Jeremy have gone on to co-found Polite Society Beauty since then). Our conversation revolves around his 2021 IGTV series, #BakeupwithJerrod. Jerrod shares how he takes inspiration from the beauty of the natural world to bring to his beauty and baking experiences. I don’t know if it’s obvious yet, but I’m a huuuge fan of Too Faced cosmetics, so being able to interview Jerrod on the intersections of beauty and food is really a dream come true for me!

The episode first aired on March 2, 2021. The following is an abridged transcript of the show, edited for clarity. If you want to listen instead, you can check it out on Spotify and Apple Podcasts.

“There was a world of inspiration in there. It was a natural marriage to take things that are delicious, beautiful, tasty, and iconic, like a chocolate bar, or things that remind you of a certain season or a certain experience, like a peach, and integrating that into the colour. I love to create an experience. It's not just about the product or the way it blends or wears, it's about the way it feels, the way it smells, the way it makes you feel.”

- Jerrod Blandino, founder and former CEO of Too Faced Cosmetics
