welcome to anthrodish essays!

My name is Sarah Duignan, and I’m a medical anthropologist, environmental consultant, and podcaster that explores the connections between food, health, environment, and culture through writing and digital media. Here you’ll find small essays by me and interviews with some pretty incredible humans about their work on these issues.

New essays for all subscribers will come out biweekly on Sunday mornings, best enjoyed with a fresh coffee or tea or hot chocolate. These essays will explore food and culture, health and wellness culture, water security, climate change, and how we navigate these with digital and social medias.

Paid subscriptions are $35 USD a year and include two additional posts per month: one monthly interview transcripts from the AnthroDish podcast interview vault the second Friday of every month, and an end-of-month Friday round-up of books/shows/articles I’ve been enjoying, as well as the odd classroom resource, activity, or discussion I’ve used in my lectures over the years (but I stepped away from teaching this year, so who knows).

Importantly, I am so appreciative and excited that you are here. Thank you!

Why subscribe?

Subscribe to get full access to the newsletter and website. Never miss an update. Subscription fees help to fund the podcast (such as supporting the RSS fees, the recording fees, and the promotional fees), which I maintain forever as an open access, free, and for the public learning space. In short, it helps keep this going in a way I deeply, deeply appreciate!
